As we know from the previous post on 4-Aug, the Young Lions have won the SLVC 3 times & currently rank 7th in the all-time SLVC mini-league, so it won't be such an easy meat as Sengkang for SAFFC on 5-Sep...
Following the 0-0 draw with Super Reds on 7-Sep, the Young Lions now has 199 league points all-time. The 200 mark can be reached on 10-Sep, should it earn at least a draw against SAFFC.
To date, the Young Lions have met SAFFC twice in the SLVC, with both teams winning once apiece:
1 2003-09-20 Sing. AF-- YoungLions 3 1
2 2006-04-26 YoungLions Sing. AF-- 2 0 (This win also won it its 3rd SLVC title)
Although the SLVC records seemed evenly match, their head-to-head meetings since 2003 (the year Young Lions joined the S.League) paints a vastly different picture: the Young Lions has won just twice out of 14 encounters!
Having already beat the Young Lions twice in 2007 by comfortable scores (3-1 & 5-2), looks like a 3rd win is on the cards for SAFFC as well?
