Ever wonder how the S.League table will look like, if the points earned are base on season series won/drew/lost by each team, as though each series is a game itself?
Have actually posted the equivalent on BigSoccer for USA's MLS, let's see where the teams stand in this alternate table for 2009, as the 22-Oct: (will post the previous season's table later)
Without DPMM:
#. Team----- W-D-L Pts GD
-------------------------
1. S.Reds--- 8-0-2 24 +19
2. Gombak--- 8-0-2 24 +16
3. SAFFC---- 7-0-3 21 +42
4. Tampines- 7-0-3 21 +18
5. Home----- 7-0-3 21 +17
6. Geylang-- 5-0-5 15 -2
7. Y.Lions-- 3-2-5 11 -18
8. Albirex-- 3-0-7 09 -8
9. Sengkang- 2-1-7 07 -31
10.Balestier 2-0-8 06 -29
11.Woodlands 1-1-8 04 -24
With DPMM:
#. Team----- W-D-L Pts GD
--------------------------
1. DPMM----- 8-1-2 25 +8
2. Home----- 8-0-3 24 +24
3. Tampines- 8-0-3 24 +19
4. S.Reds--- 8-0-3 24 +17
5. Gombak--- 8-0-3 24 +15
6. SAFFC---- 7-0-4 21 +41
7. Geylang-- 5-0-6 15 -4
8. Y.Lions-- 3-2-6 11 -20
9. Albirex-- 3-0-8 09 -9
10.Sengkang- 2-2-7 08 -31
11.Balestier 2-0-9 06 -34
12.Woodlands 1-1-9 04 -26
Surprise, surprise!!?? Our newly-crowned league champions, SAFFC, is only 3rd in the DPMM-less Table, and dropped even lower to 6th is DPMM is included!!
Salute to Super Reds, and especially DPMM, for their great show so far this season...
(IMHO, this is a nice way to see how teams have performed against each other over a season, regardless of number of games/rounds being played, and can be used to compare teams from seasons where the number of games/rounds were different. )
