Who will be the Last Unbeaten Side in 2009?
With SAFFC's shock loss to Woodlands on 22nd-March, only 3 teams are still unbeaten after Round 5 of the 2009 S.League:
1. Gombak (4-1-0)
2. DPMM (3-2-0)
3. Tampines (2-3-0)
Out of these 3, who do you think will be the last unbeaten side of the season? Let's vote!!
(note: only league games are taken into account, excluding cup/continental competitions)
The Last Unbeaten Sides in the Past Seasons:
1996 (Series 1): Home (3-2-0)
1996 (Series 2): SAFFC (9-5-0, unbeaten for that entire series!)
1997: Geylang (5-7-0)
1998: Tanjong Pagar (2-2-0)
1999: Home (15-6-0, just 1 game short of an unbeaten season!!)
2000: Tanjong Pagar (7-4-0)
2001: Geylang (9-1-0)
2002: SAFFC (11-2-0)
2003: Home (9-2-0)
2004: Woodlands (6-0-0)
2005: Tampines (5-1-0)
2006: Young Lions (10-2-0)
2007: SAFFC (6-1-0)

Can Gombak Go Top?
Gombak will top the table for the very first time in their history if they can get at least a point against Home on 13th-March.
It's going to be one cracking game (I hope to see them win though),
It's going to be one cracking game (I hope to see them win though),
By the way, this game will also double-up as the 4th S.League Virtual Championship (SLVC) game of the season, previous games in 2009 were:
19-Feb: Super Reds (2008 Year-end Winners) 0-0 Yg Lions
24-Feb: Gombak 1-0 Super Reds
6-Mar: Gombak 3-0 Albirex
13-Mar Home ?-? Gombak

2009th S.League Game
Just so you know, the 16th-March game between Sengkang & Super Reds is going to be the 2009th S.League Game all-time...
"2009 reasons" to watch the match, surely there're going to be more than 2009 people in attendance,

SLeague SMS Alerts Service by SingTel - No DPMM Updates?!
Any folks here subscribed to the SLeague SMS Alerts Service by Singtel?
For those who had, did you noticed that so far the service had not provided any alerts for games involving Brunei DPMM?
Have sent SingTel an email on this, still awaiting their reply... Any others have similar observations?
Updated 13-Mar:
Only received a standard reply from SingTel so far:
The service worked well with alerts for Geylang-DPMM match though, so it seemed the problem only applies to matches in Brunei...

2000th S.League Game
In case you're not aware, the match between Sengkang-Geylang (2-2 draw) on 5-Mar-2009 was the 2000th S.League Game ever!
On the other hand, a day before that, the 6700th S.League Goal was scored by Brunei DPMM's Yusof Salleh during the 2-1 win over Super Reds.
At the current goals-per-game rate, the 7000th Goal should arrive some time after the halfway-point of the 2009 season, so stay tuned...
