Go watch the game of "Leap Year"!
No no no, this is not advertisment for the new MediaCorp movie "Leap Years". It actually refers to the game between SAFFC & Sengkang on 29-Feb-08, :-p
Besides being the only S.League game ever played on a Leap Day, this game will also double-up as the 16th SLVC match for SAFFC in the current reign.
Per past records, Sengkang has never won in their 19 previous SLVC matches. That should say much about their chances this time round as well...
Can miracles happen on this special occasion? I don't think so...
P/S: The start of S.League seasons during the past Leap Years:
1996: Apr-20th
2000: Mar-9th
2004: Mar-2nd
2008: Feb-18th

Dalian 1-2, Super Reds pulled level with Afrique
By beating Dalian 2-1 away on 25-Feb, Super Reds has not only shot to the top of S.League 2008 table (for a day or 2 at least), but also pulled level (despite still remain 18th on G/D) with 17th-placed Sporting Afrique in the all-time table (on 24 points).
Next-up is 16th-placed Liaoning on 29 points... They should be able to reach it in the next few matchs base on their "Red Hot" form now.
But in order to catch 15th-placed Sinchi (88 pts) or even 14th-placed Clementi (95 pts), they need to amass 70+ points in this season, which is a good sum to win the league!
Can they do it? I doubt so, maybe one more season I guess...

SLVC Preview: SAFFC vs Geylang on 26-Feb-08
Having beaten Albirex 3-1 on 22-Feb & extended their hold on S.League Virtual Championship for 14 games (with 11 wins & 3 draws!), SAFFC will face fellow title contenders Geylang on 26-Feb-08.
Their run of 14 games above has tied with Home's feat in 2007, & is just 3 short of the all-time record (17 games) achieved by the legendary Home team in 1999.
Base on their past home records against Geylang since 2001 (winning 7 out of 8 match-ups since 2002), should this be another win for SAFFC?

S.League Goal #6000
While not many are aware of this, as at the end of 2007 season, the all-time goals count of S.League was stuck at 5999, :-)
That 6000th goal (which was also the first league goal in 2008) was finally scored by Sin Hyun Ho (#20) of Super Reds against Woodlands in the opening match of 2008, congrats to him for achieving this rare double milestone!
